This internship will\u00a0assist\u00a0in achieving the corporate mission of providing a safe environment for employees and customers.\u202f Interns will have the opportunity to learn about and be exposed to each function of an airline safety department.\u202f After successfully completing the internship, the intern will have an overall knowledge needed to understand all elements of safety. This intern position\u00a0is responsible for\u00a0assisting\u00a0the Ground Safety team with ensuring safety and compliance throughout the organization. Essential Duties:<\/strong>\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Involvement in Occupational Safety and Health Programs, including but not limited to: Injury and Illness Prevention; Heat Illness Prevention; Wildfire Smoke Protocol; and OSHA Self-Audits\u00a0<\/p>\n Assist\u00a0with review and follow-up of report submissions\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Assist\u00a0in creating data visualizations and reviewing manuals\u00a0 Job Qualifications and Competencies:<\/strong>\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n One\u00a0(1)\u00a0year of progress towards a degree with a major or minor in safety or aviation\/aeronautical science\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Excellent communication and Microsoft Office Suite skills\u00a0required\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated,\u00a0ability to multi-task, problem solving skills, and the ability to set and meet deadlines\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n General knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations, and procedures\u00a0regarding\u00a0airline safety\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong>\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Junior or Senior student\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Prior work experience, especially in a fast-paced office environment\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Knowledge of Tableau\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Work Environment:<\/strong>\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Some travel\u00a0required\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Physical Requirements:<\/strong>\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities,\u00a0duties\u00a0and skills\u00a0required\u00a0for this position.
