We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) <\/strong>Intern to support safety, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives within our Distribution Center and manufacturing environment. This internship provides hands\u2011on exposure to real\u2011world safety programs, data\u2011driven incident reduction efforts, inspections, and employee training activities. You will work closely with EHS professionals, operations, maintenance, and cross\u2011functional partners while gaining practical experience in occupational health and safety.<\/p>\n

This position will be full time and located at our Jackson, TN site. The anticipated duration is late May \u2013 mid August 2026.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distribution Center Safety Incident Reduction<\/p>\n

Lead a focused problem\u2011solving project aimed at strengthening Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety by:<\/p>\n

Analyzing historical PIT incident data to identify trends and risk patterns<\/p>\n

Performing root cause analysis (RCA) using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or fault tree mapping<\/p>\n

Identifying contributing factors including behaviors, training gaps, procedures, traffic flow, employee type, and environmental conditions<\/p>\n

Developing corrective and preventive action recommendations to reduce future incidents<\/p>\n

Preparing and presenting findings and improvement recommendations to EHSS leadership<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Safety Programs & Compliance<\/p>\n

Review, revise, and update Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessments<\/p>\n

Assist with procedure reviews for Lockout\/Tagout (LOTO) and Confined Space programs<\/p>\n

Support updates to PIT training materials and standard work documentation<\/p>\n

Assist with maintaining EHSS documentation using the site\u2019s SharePoint platform<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inspections & Monitoring<\/p>\n

Assist with inspections of fall protection equipment, including safety harnesses<\/p>\n

Support new equipment inspections to ensure EHSS compliance<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Training & Employee Engagement<\/p>\n

Job shadow Maintenance personnel to gain hands\u2011on Lockout\/Tagout experience<\/p>\n

Review and update LOTO training materials<\/p>\n

Assist with delivering LOTO training to authorized employees<\/p>\n

Support ergonomic evaluations through job shadowing and observational assessments<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

General EHS Support<\/p>\n

Assist with a variety of safety\u2011related projects and continuous improvement initiatives<\/p>\n

Provide administrative and field support to the EHSS team<\/p>\n

Participate in job shadowing opportunities to broaden exposure to safety and operational functions<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently pursuing a bachelor\u2019s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field<\/p>\n

College\u2011level Sophomore or higher at the time of internship<\/p>\n

Basic understanding of workplace safety principles preferred<\/p>\n

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)<\/p>\n

Strong analytical, observational, and problem\u2011solving skills<\/p>\n

Ability to work in a hands\u2011on, field\u2011based operational environment<\/p>\n

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks<\/p>\n

Effective verbal and written communication skills<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n
