{"id":16268,"date":"2025-11-04T15:29:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T15:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/registered-nurse-9\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T15:29:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T15:29:00","slug":"registered-nurse-9","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/registered-nurse-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Registered Nurse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whether you&#8217;re looking for a new chapter, a change of pace, or a helping hand, Sauk County Health Care Center is where you can build a more rewarding career.\u00a0We are looking for someone who has the desire to provide care for the elderly and be a part of the Health Care Center Team.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Staff Nurse is to perform registered nursing services or licensed practical nursing services at the Sauk County Health Care Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promote or restore resident&#8217;s health by completing the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide physical and psychological support to residents and their families.<\/li>\n<li>Promote resident\u2019s independence by establishing a resident centered model approach to all aspects of nursing care.<\/li>\n<li>Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards of practice; measuring health outcomes against resident\u2019s goals and standards; following nursing home\u2019s philosophy and standards of care set by the state board of nursing, state nurse practice act and any other governing agency.<\/li>\n<li>Administer prescribed treatments and medications to residents by all approved routes while monitoring for resident\u2019s physical and mental response to medications and treatments.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with admission of new residents by determining resident\u2019s special nursing needs and assigns tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Provide assistance and guidance to nursing assistants on procedures, treatments, and equipment. \u00a0Evaluate CNAs work performance and completes performance evaluations. \u00a0Recommend subordinates&#8217; discipline\/discharge.<\/li>\n<li>Accompany physicians on medical rounds and update physicians regarding resident\u2019s medical conditions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Document resident information into the Electronic Charting System (ECS) to provide continuity of care and will also enter information into the Minimum Data Set (MDS) system as needed and\/or requested.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing resident care plans and assures adherence by the interdisciplinary team daily.<\/li>\n<li>Record weekly and\/or monthly, resident progress or change in condition in order to maintain resident\u2019s clinical record.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and record vital signs. \u00a0Records resident procedures, treatments and medications as required by state and federal regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and other ADLs, and help to answer call lights on the unit in a timely manner.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Prepare accident\/incident reports for residents and staff.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Participate in in-service training to maintain knowledge of current facility, state and federal regulations and requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Assure policy and procedure adherence by staff of facility.<\/li>\n<li>Transcribe physician orders.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Order and stock pharmaceutical supplies and medication.<\/li>\n<li>Account for narcotics and resident money and valuables.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>And other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Required Working Hours<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Standard working hours may vary between first shift, second shift, and third shift. Please note these hours are subject to change and additional hours may be needed or required. \u00a0Reimbursement for such additional hours are subject to state and federal regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Training and Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Associate&#8217;s degree in Nursing<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Licenses\/Certifications:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Registered Nursing (RN) License<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Nursing<\/p>\n<p>Nursing experience with the geriatric population<\/p>\n<p>2 years of nursing experience<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Sauk County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
