Employees in this class are called upon to handle correspondence, prepare records, perform reception duties, type, file documents and operate a variety of office equipment. The work requires the exercising of independent judgment in the application of office procedures and regulations. This classification differs from that of Clerical Assistant primarily in relieving a supervisor of administrative details, including responding independently to routine correspondence. Directed supervision is provided by the department head or other professional staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following duties are expected of this position.\u00a0 These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.\u00a0 Other duties may be required and assigned.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborates with the District Attorney&#8217;s Office on criminal case reports.<\/li>\n<li>Receives and responds to open records requests.<\/li>\n<li>Transcribes and type letters, memos, reports, legal documents, and related material from<br \/>clear copy, rough draft, or dictation.<\/li>\n<li>Sorts, indexes and files records and materials relevant to assigned divisions.<\/li>\n<li>Answers and screens incoming calls, furnishes information and keeps appointment calendar.<\/li>\n<li>Composes routine replies to general inquiries and correspondence.<\/li>\n<li>Compiles data and information to assist in the completion of reports, special studies and<br \/>various projects.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares a variety of weekly and monthly reports.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares billings, posts to proper ledgers, tabulates vouchers and gathers annual cost<br \/>statistics.<\/li>\n<li>Records financial transactions in the proper records of accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Orders office supplies and program materials.<\/li>\n<li>Collects and deposits fees for licenses, permits and departmental services.<\/li>\n<li>Keeps appraised of related laws, regulations, policies and program procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Receives payments, issues receipts and maintains related records.<\/li>\n<li>Works at counter and assists preparing forms and applications and providing information.<\/li>\n<li>Civil Process- Comprehension of related laws, keep accurate documentation of processes,<br \/>scheduling and follow up of services.<\/li>\n<li>Clerk Sheriff Sales for the Sheriff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Required Work Experienced\/Essential Skills Required to Perform Position\/Duties<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
