Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide attentive care and supervision to assigned group of students.<\/li>\n<li>Lead assigned group through daily procedures, including supervision during arrival, snack, transitions, activities, and dismissal.<\/li>\n<li>Develop an understanding of the COMPASS models, goals, and approaches to positive youth development.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure participants are properly supervised according to licensor regulations at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Take student attendance; ensure all assigned students are accounted for throughout program time.<\/li>\n<li>Lead dismissal of assigned students and ensure established site-based dismissal procedures are followed, including dismissing students only to approved adults, managing student sign-out sheets, and releasing students with permission to travel home independently according to procedure.<\/li>\n<li>Actively assist with activity facilitation for assigned group, according to Activity Specialist\u2019s approved lesson plan.<\/li>\n<li>Support participants with individual learning and behavioral needs throughout activity periods.<\/li>\n<li>In the absence of an Activity Specialist, remain prepared to facilitate an activity for assigned group, utilizing a pre-approved lesson plan or group activity from NIA\u2019s curriculum bank.<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with co-workers in assigned classroom, including Activity Specialists, Teachers, or Youth Workers.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure assigned classroom\/space is kept clean and school property is left undisturbed. Clean up fully after program activity is complete, and leave shared school spaces as they were found.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize only supplies, materials, and equipment provided directly by NIA or school items explicitly communicated as shared and available for program use.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a professional demeanor and interact with program participants according to NIA\u2019s employee requirements, ensuring appropriate boundaries are maintained and pre-approved behavior management techniques are used.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to the program\u2019s established mental health response and referral plan.<\/li>\n<li>Personally complete required Mental Health training, including Mental Health and Mental Illness, Engagement and De-Escalation Strategies, Referral and Crisis Management Protocols, and Mental Health Resources.<\/li>\n<li>Support on-site Inclusion efforts, working alongside program managers to identify and support student needs.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in ensuring that program operates safely, including maintaining safe spaces and program practices; adhering to requirements for scheduled fire drills and other safety drills; being vigilant of staff and student interaction, signs of child abuse\/maltreatment\/neglect, and signs of mental health emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>Respond according to established organization and site-based plan in the event of on-site injuries or medical emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in ensuring that the program operates in compliance with all DOH\/licensing mandates.<\/li>\n<li>Support a strong sense of community which values respect, ensuring that all children and families feel welcome and a sense of belonging.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including topics required to maintain organization compliance with funder and licensing requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Additional tasks as assigned to meet organizational goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_ch_employer_id":"13272","_ch_external_id":"11028125","_ch_location_state":"","_ch_location_city":"","_ch_is_ocr_job":"","_ch_expiration_date":"2026-06-07","_ch_apply_link":"https:\/\/monmouth.joinhandshake.com\/jobs\/11028125\/share_preview"},"ch_stakeholder":[],"ch_class_year":[],"ch_job_category":[86],"ch_career_skill":[],"ch_industry":[64],"class_list":["post-16032","ch_job","type-ch_job","status-publish","hentry","ch_job_category-full-time","ch_industry-non-profit-education-community-organizations"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job\/16032","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ch_job"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16032"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"ch_stakeholder","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_stakeholder?post=16032"},{"taxonomy":"ch_class_year","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_class_year?post=16032"},{"taxonomy":"ch_job_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job_category?post=16032"},{"taxonomy":"ch_career_skill","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_career_skill?post=16032"},{"taxonomy":"ch_industry","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_industry?post=16032"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
