{"id":15725,"date":"2025-08-27T20:00:30","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T20:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/cabin-leader\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T20:00:30","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T20:00:30","slug":"cabin-leader","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/cabin-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabin Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position Type:<\/strong> Full-time, seasonal<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full summer (June 1-Aug 1)<\/li>\n<li>5 weeks at the beginning of summer (June 1- July 4)<\/li>\n<li>4 weeks at the end of summer (July 5-Aug 1)<\/li>\n<li>Mandatory staff training (May 25-30)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supervision:<\/strong> Senior Cabin Leader<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong> Cabin leaders serve as co-leaders over one cabin of 6 Campers with varying abilities and 6 Camper Buddies, each paired with a Camper. Candidates will be responsible for leading and guiding their cabin through the daily camp schedule, from waking up, to eating, to activities, to leading daily devotionals, and more. Encouragement of a loving and serving mentality, as well as facilitating a positive, fun, silly, enthusiastic camp culture is <strong>essential<\/strong>. Leading by example and creating a safe, judgement-free space will compel Buddies to follow the goofiness\u00a0that is required for camp culture. Emphasis on creating a healthy and goofy camp culture can not be stated enough for this position.\u00a0It is the Cabin Leader\u2019s responsibility to instill this expectation in their cabin Buddies and Cabin Hands.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist and train Buddies in meeting their Camper\u2019s physical needs<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the rule of 3 is being followed at all times<\/li>\n<li>Guide cabin through daily camp schedule<\/li>\n<li>Lead daily Camper and Buddy devotionals<\/li>\n<li>Supervise cabin during waking hours, as well as sleeping hours; Cabin Leaders should never leave their cabins<\/li>\n<li>Create safe environment for Campers, as well as Buddies and other Staff\/Volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Support all members of cabin mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually<\/li>\n<li>Create sense of family amongst your cabin, as well as promote cabin spirit<\/li>\n<li>Complete other duties as assigned by Senior Cabin Leaders\/Leadership Team<\/li>\n<li>Ensure positive and healthy attitudes of your cabin Volunteers and Campers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Facilitate a high energy, positive, fun, silly, enthusiastic camp culture<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Ensure safety of all cabin members<\/li>\n<li>Behavioral de-escalation<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of when to call Property Staff to help in difficult\/dangerous situations<\/li>\n<li>Encourage participation from Volunteers, Campers, and even Staff, if necessary<\/li>\n<li>Assist Activity Leaders to facilitate a safe environment while at activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>18 years or older<\/li>\n<li>Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate of college<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Previous leadership\/supervisory experience is required<\/li>\n<li>Lead by example<\/li>\n<li>Positive attitude<\/li>\n<li>Energetic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Time management<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal communication<\/li>\n<li>Behavioral de-escalation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pay and Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting at $200\/week and up based on experience and tenure with Camp Blessing Texas<\/li>\n<li>Free room and board during work term<\/li>\n<li>Creating professional networking with college students from across the Country<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and will be required to complete a staff training and orientation program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_ch_employer_id":"15722","_ch_external_id":"10210658","_ch_location_state":"","_ch_location_city":"","_ch_is_ocr_job":"","_ch_expiration_date":"2026-05-30","_ch_apply_link":"https:\/\/monmouth.joinhandshake.com\/jobs\/10210658\/share_preview"},"ch_stakeholder":[],"ch_class_year":[],"ch_job_category":[],"ch_career_skill":[],"ch_industry":[],"class_list":["post-15725","ch_job","type-ch_job","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job\/15725","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ch_job"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=15725"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"ch_stakeholder","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_stakeholder?post=15725"},{"taxonomy":"ch_class_year","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_class_year?post=15725"},{"taxonomy":"ch_job_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job_category?post=15725"},{"taxonomy":"ch_career_skill","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_career_skill?post=15725"},{"taxonomy":"ch_industry","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_industry?post=15725"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
