This role is integral to a lean, fast-moving communications team and requires someone who is equally comfortable pitching a lifestyle editor, managing influencer seeding, and supporting community engagement initiatives that bring our brands to life beyond the inbox.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Media Relations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support consumer PR efforts across the 1-800-Flowers.com enterprise, with dedicated focus on both the 1-800-Flowers.com and Harry &amp; David brand voices and audiences\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media contacts and influencers, including editors, journalists, producers, Substack writers, YouTubers, and food\/lifestyle content creators\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Proactively pitch stories, news briefs, and culturally relevant content to secure media coverage across consumer, food, gifting, and lifestyle verticals\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Identify cultural moments and trending ideas for timely pitches across both brands \u2014 including food, harvest, and artisan gifting narratives aligned to Harry &amp; David&#8217;s positioning\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Create, maintain, and update media lists using Muck Rack\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Support team LinkedIn presence as needed\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Press &amp; David-specific press assets, seasonal lookbooks, and product storytelling materials that reflect the brand&#8217;s premium, Pacific Northwest heritage\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, data insights, and visual assets for content creation\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Craft pitches, press releases, and LinkedIn posts for consumer and corporate announcements across all brands\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Build and optimize press lookbooks for Pinterest, supporting trend narratives including Flower of the Year and Harry &amp; David seasonal gifting stories\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Draft and post news briefs and press releases to PR Newswire; maintain updates to corporate news site\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Community Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support community engagement programming that extends brand presence into local and national communities \u2014 including partnerships with nonprofit organizations, cause-related campaigns, and community gifting initiatives\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Help identify and support opportunities for both 1-800-Flowers.com and Harry &amp; David to show up authentically in community contexts (local events, food bank partnerships, culinary community programs, etc.)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing and tracking community engagement initiatives, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Support execution of brand activations, local market events, and community-facing moments that align with enterprise values and brand positioning\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Help document and report on community programs for internal recaps and potential earned media coverage\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting &amp; Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use Muck Rack, Cision, Google, and AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gamma) to monitor media coverage and conduct daily news sweeps\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Prepare weekly media reports assessing the effectiveness of PR efforts across brands\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Prepare regular coverage reports \u2014 including slides\/presentations and recap emails \u2014 for key holidays and campaigns to evaluate impact of PR activities\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Media Sample Ordering &amp; Sample Closet<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place orders for media product samples across brands (including Harry &amp; David food, gift, and specialty items), ensuring accuracy and timeliness\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Track orders to ensure on-time delivery as promised\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Respond promptly to sample requests and inquiries\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain a media sample closet in the Jericho office; a New York City location is ideal for media access\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Spearhead and organize a product seeding program and database of top-tier media contacts and influencers for key holidays \u2014 Valentine\u2019s Day, Mother\u2019s Day, Holiday, and harvest\/fall gifting (a key moment for Harry &amp; David)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Occasionally be on-site at the Long Island City facility to oversee floral arrangement design and seeding deliveries\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Meet, deliver, and style product for national shows and top markets (New York) as needed\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set up new vendors;
