About the Role & Program:<\/p>\n
\u201cThis Week with George Stephanopoulos\u201d is ABC News flagship public affairs program featuring newsmaker interviews, political analysis, and debates on a wide range of issues!<\/p>\n
Each week’s show includes interviews with top newsmakers (including some of the nation’s top political leaders) as well as a roundtable discussion, usually featuring journalists from ABC and other news organizations, of the week’s happenings.<\/p>\n
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Washington D.C area from January 2027 – June 2027. Student must be fully available from Thursday through Sunday, 40 hours each week. Thursday through Saturday generally begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends approximately at 6:00 p.m. Sunday requires an in-person 5:00 a.m. start and generally ends by 12 pm.<\/p>\n
What You Will Do:<\/p>\n
As an intern with “This Week,” you play a vital role within the editorial team! Your responsibilities may encompass:<\/p>\n
Generating and communicating ideas in editorial pitch meetings<\/p>\n
Conducting background research for headline interviews and roundtable segments<\/p>\n
Transcribing prerecorded interviews<\/p>\n
Assisting in the production of the live show on Sunday mornings, including guest greeting<\/p>\n
Publishing digital stories summarizing headline interviews post-show<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications & Skills:<\/p>\n
Demonstrated knowledge of politics, current events, and public affairs through coursework, campus media, or related experience.<\/p>\n
Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources<\/p>\n
Demonstrated writing and editing experience for news, journalism, or digital media audiences.<\/p>\n
Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.<\/p>\n
Ability to communicate professionally and collaborate effectively in an editorial or production environment.<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Previous internship experience in a professional newsroom or editorial environment.<\/p>\n
Experience editing written content for print, digital, or student publications.<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
Major or coursework in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, Media Studies, Film\/Television, or a related field.<\/p>\n
Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred<\/p>\n
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:<\/p>\n
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:<\/p>\n
Be enrolled in an accredited college\/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.<\/p>\n
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and\/or program.<\/p>\n
Be at least 18 years of age<\/p>\n
Possess unrestricted work authorization<\/p>\n
Additional Information:<\/p>\n
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship<\/p>\n
Fully available from January 2027 through June 2027<\/p>\n
