The WGA conducts two professional championships, the Evans Scholars Invitational (Korn Ferry Tour) and BMW Championship (PGA Tour), each benefiting the Evans Scholars Foundation. The WGA also conducts four amateur golf championships, each with a longstanding history. Established by famed amateur golfer Charles \u201cChick\u201d Evans, Jr., the program provides full housing and tuition scholarships to deserving caddies across the country. Currently, 1,310 caddies are attending college on scholarship; there are 12,870 Evans Alumni.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>BMW Championship<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the penultimate event of the PGA Tour\u2019s FedExCup Playoffs, the BMW Championship features the best field in golf competing on world-class venues. It\u2019s the oldest event on the PGA Tour and the signature fundraising benefit for the Evans Scholars Foundation. In the more than 100 years since its inception, the championship\u2019s J.K. Wadley trophy has been engraved with the names of golf\u2019s greatest legends, including Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Evans Scholars Invitational<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since 2019, the Korn Ferry Tour and the Western Golf Association have partnered\u00a0to conduct the Evans Scholars Invitational. With Alumni like Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas, the Korn Ferry Tour is the path to the PGA Tour. The Evans Scholars Invitational is a showcase for golf\u2019s next generation of stars. All proceeds from the event benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Western Junior<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First held at Chicago Golf Club in 1914, the Western Junior is the oldest national junior tournament in the United States. Each year, it draws the top junior players from more than 40 states and around the world. The event has long been a testing ground for stars of the future, including current PGA Tour standouts Collin Morikawa, Scottie Scheffler, Rickie Fowler and legends Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Fred Couples and Corey Pavin.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Western Amateur<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Western Amateur is the most grueling test in amateur golf. To win, the Western Amateur champion must play 72 holes of stroke play and finish in the top 16 to qualify for match play. He must then win four matches against the most talented amateur golfers in the world over the next two days. With past champions like Chick Evans, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods, the Western Amateur is where golf\u2019s rising stars showcase their abilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Amateur Golf\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide operational and administrative support to all four WGA amateur championships, with on-site support focused on the Men\u2019s Western Golf Association Championships:<\/li>\n<li>Women\u2019s Western Junior<\/li>\n<li>Western Junior<\/li>\n<li>Women\u2019s Western Amateur<\/li>\n<li>Western Amateur<\/li>\n<li>Administrative duties include website management, registration packet and tee gift assembly, printing\/copying, and proofreading<\/li>\n<li>Operational duties include transporting supplies to host facility, monitoring and maintaining equipment inventory, and on-site setup and breakdown\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Work in conjunction with host club staff, WGA Directors, members, volunteers, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate volunteer assignments and provide instruction to volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Assist with golf course setup and preparation<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with players, parents, and coaches as necessary by phone and email<\/li>\n<li>Assist in processing tournament entry information, fees, housing and transportation requests, and booking practice round tee times\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate data entry into pairings and scoring program<\/li>\n<li>Update player applications, playing resumes, and rankings information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Professional Golf<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work in conjunction with host club staff, WGA Directors, members, volunteers, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Equipment set-up and breakdown<\/li>\n<li>Golf course set-up and preparation<\/li>\n<li>Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance, and replenishment<\/li>\n<li>Vendor contract negotiations and on-site management<\/li>\n<li>Assist in managing volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Manage golf cart distribution and assignments<\/li>\n<li>Assist with volunteer training, package fulfillment, and distribution<\/li>\n<li>Manage deliveries, including incoming and outgoing shipping and receiving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
