Up to 135 students ages 5 \u2013 21 from over 20 countries will participate in academic, creative arts, physical education, and life skills classes. Community Events are held on Wednesdays. Field Trips are held on Fridays.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Photography Intern will create high quality stock photos for IRC\u2019s internal and external purposes, including newsletters, funder reports, and the Yearbook. The Photographer will work as needed on-site at the Academy.<\/p>\n<p>The Photography Intern will collaborate closely with the Yearbook Coordinator and Graphic Designer to ensure the Academy is thoroughly documented and that the Yearbook is a valued memorabilia item for students and families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Major Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Photograph Newcomer Youth Summer Academy events, classes, and take student and staff portraits<\/li>\n<li>Provide regular communication with IRC administrators, Yearbook Coordinator, and Graphic Designer<\/li>\n<li>Provide images in easy-to-download files organized by date and event<\/li>\n<li>Edit photo rolls<\/li>\n<li>Edit photos<\/li>\n<li>To be considered, the photographer must be able to commit to photographing at least 50% of the top priority days\/events, which are:<\/li>\n<li>Staff Training<\/li>\n<li>First Day of School<\/li>\n<li>In-class and around-school candid photographs<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday mid-day community events (e.g., Concert, International Food &amp; Fashion Festival, Talent Show)<\/li>\n<li>Field trips (every Friday)<\/li>\n<li>Student and staff yearbook portraits<\/li>\n<li>Graduation (Friday)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be based in the United States and must be a U.S. citizen or have U.S. work authorization<\/li>\n<li>Must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the last 2 years<\/li>\n<li>Photographer with at least two years of photography experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills<\/li>\n<li>Flexible and able to solve problems<\/li>\n<li>High level of cultural competence<\/li>\n<li>Fluency with photo editing programs<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with diverse populations and youth desirable<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Consent to photos being the property of IRC and not for use by the photographer without IRC\u2019s permission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhance skills to document clients of diverse backgrounds and ages<\/li>\n<li>Gain hands-on experience with different types of photography (portraits, class-setting, events, and action shots)<\/li>\n<li>Develop an understanding of photography ethics, especially when working with refugee and youth populations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_ch_employer_id":"11958","_ch_external_id":"11003373","_ch_location_state":"","_ch_location_city":"","_ch_is_ocr_job":"","_ch_expiration_date":"2026-05-30","_ch_apply_link":"https:\/\/monmouth.joinhandshake.com\/jobs\/11003373\/share_preview"},"ch_stakeholder":[],"ch_class_year":[],"ch_job_category":[],"ch_career_skill":[],"ch_industry":[],"class_list":["post-12561","ch_job","type-ch_job","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job\/12561","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ch_job"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=12561"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"ch_stakeholder","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_stakeholder?post=12561"},{"taxonomy":"ch_class_year","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_class_year?post=12561"},{"taxonomy":"ch_job_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job_category?post=12561"},{"taxonomy":"ch_career_skill","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_career_skill?post=12561"},{"taxonomy":"ch_industry","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_industry?post=12561"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
