MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, Real Estate, Construction Management or related field. Master\u2019s degree preferred.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0Five (5) years experience in analyzing demographic data and identifying trends in affordable housing.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Valid Florida drivers\u2019 license.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Knowledge of Metropolitan Miami-Dade County and Municipal Zoning Codes and State of Florida Growth Management Laws.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Familiarity with federal and local government programs and processes.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0Proficient working knowledge of current versions of computer application programs: word processing application programs, spreadsheet application programs, and data management application programs.<\/p>\n

8. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.<\/p>\n

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY<\/p>\n

Planning and designing comprehensive plans for land use and development projects aligned with the district’s mission. Demonstrating a strong understanding of urban planning principles, land use regulations, community engagement, and valuing of real estate assets of a large entity, using excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0Plans and designs land use and development projects.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0Conducts feasibility studies and ensures projects align with district goals and community needs.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Analyzes demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform planning decisions.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Coordinates with local government agencies on zoning, concurrency, and land use issues.<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0Ensures compliance with environmental regulations.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0Develops and implements sustainability practices for all projects.<\/p>\n

7. \u00a0\u00a0Conducts environmental impact assessments and mitigation planning.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0 Advises on green building practices and renewable energy integration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

9. \u00a0\u00a0Collaborates with the Sustainability Officer, government officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders such as landowners and citizens to achieve project goals.<\/p>\n

10.\u00a0\u00a0Accounts for traffic growth and manage solutions for common transportation needs.<\/p>\n

11.\u00a0\u00a0Oversees project development and help in providing affordable housing.<\/p>\n

12.\u00a0\u00a0Assists in planning and reviving low socio-economic areas within the District.<\/p>\n

13.\u00a0\u00a0Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position.<\/p>\n

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n

This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.\u00a0 The work is performed primarily indoors and outdoors and requires frequent in-county travel.<\/p>\n
