As a rapidly expanding organization, we provide hands-on learning experiences and exposure to real-world projects that support both personal and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Interns work closely with experienced team members, gain insight into our business operations, and contribute to meaningful surety initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to travel to our corporate office in Richmond, VA, where you\u2019ll connect with fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This internship may lead to full-time employment opportunities upon graduation. We\u2019re excited to help you grow with us!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shadowing our Producers \u2013 Learn more about the sales process for surety.\u00a0 Best practices for contacting prospects and prequalifying them.\u00a0 Learn how to cultivate relationships with underwriters and sell accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Spending time with our Contract Bond staff \u2013 Learn the underwriting process that goes into placing surety business.\u00a0 Gain experience working with lines of credit and the approval process to issue bonds.<\/li>\n<li>Spending time with our Commercial Bond staff \u2013 Learn about all the different types of bonds needed for all states and businesses.\u00a0 Gain experience guiding customers through our on-line binding process.<\/li>\n<li>Support account managers in servicing our clients &#8211; Learn how to issue and review bid bonds.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Spend part of the internship with our Construction division \u2013 learn how insurance and surety work in the construction industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program<\/li>\n<li>Preferred majors include, Risk Management &amp; Insurance, Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professional<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>The Hilb Group is an equal opportunity employer, and we actively support and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws prohibiting all forms of discrimination in employment.
