Portage House assists those who have been released from incarceration to integrate back into society. This position works mainly weekends and evenings.<\/p>\n<p><i>2026\u00a0starting pay is $16.39\u00a0\/ hour<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the main job responsibilities?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i>House Coverage and Supervision, including;<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains order and safety while typically the only staff member on duty during shift.<\/li>\n<li>Monitors residents&#8217; activities and whereabouts. Must remain in house for entire shift.<\/li>\n<li>Insures house rules, policies, and residents\u2019 commitments are being followed.<\/li>\n<li>Answers phone, takes messages, and communicates to other staff regarding residents\u2019 activities and behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Monitors visitors during shift.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Client Supervision, including;<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attends weekly staff meetings.\u00a0 Attends Thursday evening meetings when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Must be available to clients during shift.\u00a0 Supervises and interacts with clients, listens to their concerns, encourages positive behavior, confronts negative behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Responds to rule or policy infractions by writing disciplinary C-notes, may determine actions for minor C-notes, and records those actions.<\/li>\n<li>Participates in special house meetings while on duty.<\/li>\n<li>Records clients\u2019 activities in log book, and writes other reports as necessary.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>House Management, including;<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for house cleanliness during shift.\u00a0 Assigns and monitors residents\u2019 house chores.<\/li>\n<li>Checks smoke alarms and conducts fire drills when needed.\u00a0 Monitors residents\u2019 activities during emergencies to insure safety and state code compliance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>These are the skills and experience we are seeking:<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalency required.
