It is recommended that incumbents attend one or two years of trade school to prepare them for advancement opportunities. The Energy Center Operator I position will allow the incumbent to learn operations for HVAC and refrigeration systems, work practices, safety procedures, and become familiar with the respective equipment regulatory requirements. This position will also provide an opportunity to learn proper use of basic tools and equipment necessary to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe working environment and support an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Must have general manual dexterity, basic math knowledge, and mechanical aptitude.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Required Qualifications<br \/>Education: High School, equivalent, or 1 year direct relevant experience<br \/>Licensure:\u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Valid Driver&#8217;s License for all Mercy locations<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mercy Arkansas Hospitals require High Pressure Boiler Operator\u2019s License administered by Arkansas Dept. of Labor and Licensing where boilers are installed. \u00a0Incumbents must have required licensure prior to advancing to Energy Center Operator II<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mercy OKC Hospital requires Class II Boiler Operator&#8217;s License administered by Oklahoma City where boilers are installed. \u00a0Incumbents must have required licensure prior to advancing to Energy Center Operator II\u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mercy OKC Hospital requires Class II Boiler Operator&#8217;s License administered by Oklahoma Dept. of Labor where boilers are installed. \u00a0 Incumbents must have required licensure prior to advancing to Energy Center Operator II\u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Class C Tank Operator Training and Certification required for all Mercy locations with underground storage tanks. \u00a0Must achieve certification within 90 days of employment.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0EPA Universal Certification as required by 40CFR, Part 82, Subpart F for all Mercy locations. \u00a0Must achieve certification within 12 months of employment.<br \/>Experience: \u00a0This is an entry level position requiring basic knowledge of boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical distribution, and control system maintenance and operation.<br \/>Certification\/Registration:<br \/>EPA approved Universal Certification for handling Refrigerants<br \/>Other Skills and Knowledge: \u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Requires oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and follow instructions. \u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Verbal ability required to read and understand technical manuals. \u00a0Ability to teach or conduct learning sessions as needed. \u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Numerical ability required to make calculations for testing, installation, measurement, estimation and repair of equipment.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Ability to prioritize work assignments, conceptualize and formulate finished product.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Form perception is required when measuring and installing parts and equipment.\u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Requires knowledge and use of various computer software such as Outlook, TMS and or Nuvolo.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ability to manage time and materials efficiently. \u00a0 Completes work assignments in a high-quality manner and the lowest cost to Mercy.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Requires exceptional customer service skills and ability to achieve department goals.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Spatial ability required to understand forms and relationships when working from blueprints or specifications.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Incumbent must achieve favorable results on both oral and written competency exam prior to advancing to ECO II.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Requires general manual dexterity, basic math knowledge, and mechanical aptitude.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Exposure to extreme temperatures, electric shock, and loud noise.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications<br \/>Education:\u00a0<br \/>2 or more year of training in a Technical or Vocational School<br \/>Licensure:\u00a0<br \/>Boiler, HVAC, or Refrigeration<br \/>Experience:<br \/>1 or more years working as a maintenance technician in a healthcare, educational, or industrial
