This position will receive formal and informal training not to exceed twelve months to learn the rules, regulations, and policies of the Home Services Program to ultimately manage a caseload providing services to individuals with disabilities to remain independent in their home and community. Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity, equity, accessibility, and racial justice by contributing to an inclusive learning and working environment. The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with good communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves as a Home Services Program (HSP) Counselor Trainee in the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), Bureau of Customer and Community Field Services.<\/li>\n<li>Studies and becomes proficient in utilizing the Division&#8217;s case management system.<\/li>\n<li>Attends and participates in staff meetings, conferences, workshops, and in-service training related to the discipline of rehabilitation counseling and the home services program.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires possession of a master\u2019s degree from a college or university program accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE)\u00a0Or a master\u2019s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, sociology, gerontology and nursing, rehabilitation counseling, rehabilitation administration, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, deaf education, special education, or a closely related field.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conditions of Employment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires ability to travel to individual\u2019s home to interview applicants to determine initial eligibility and to monitor and revaluate services for DRS Home Services Program.<\/li>\n<li>Requires the ability to physically access and visually assess the home environment for suitability and planning of services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*All conditions of employment listed are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Agency:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Illinois Department of Human Services serves families in need all across Illinois.
