We provide a number of intern events throughout the summer to burn some extra energy, including volunteer events, power plant tours, lunch and learns, and more<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intern Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position will report to a manager inside the Financial Planning and Performance organization.\u00a0 This group supports the budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting for the company\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job tasks include but not limited to<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with monthly financial reporting and variance analysis by comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Gather, organize, and summarize financial and operational performance metrics.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Help create and maintain project funding records and related documentation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Compile and analyze financial data to support decision-making and business initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Must be currently enrolled in a university focusing in either accounting or finance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data analysis and problem-solving\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Cross-functional collaboration\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Professional communication and presentation skills\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Excel and financial systems experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Normal office working conditions (40 hour week), hybrid work schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Evergy has a clear mission \u2013 To empower a better future.
