Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.<\/p>\n<h2>Position Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Office Specialist. \u00a0DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program. \u00a0The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills and communication capabilities. \u00a0We invite you to join our innovative team to help make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families of Illinois.<\/p>\n<h2>Essential Function<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves as Child Care\/Child Welfare Licensing Background Check Specialist<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and keyboards documents which impact program policies and procedures, as well as confidential documents related to the performance of unit personnel<\/li>\n<li>Develops and provides comprehensive complex database reports, utilizing extensive knowledge and understanding of multiple software programs, which include highly confidential data for distribution to licensing workers\/employers<\/li>\n<li>Receives and evaluates CANTS documents\/criminal history rap sheets to determine what information is appropriate to be sent to licensing workers\/employers for review and recommendation.<\/li>\n<li>Identifies unique or complex situations requiring specialized assistance<\/li>\n<li>Prepares correspondence using Department-authorized forms to inform licensing workers\/employers of pertinent information needing to be assessed and returned to the Department for review.<\/li>\n<li>Attends staff development and training sessions to enhance knowledge and expertise<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial\/business college and one year of office experience OR completion of high school and three years of office experience OR three years of independent business experience.<\/li>\n<li>Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Conditions of Employment<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires ability to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About the Agency<\/h2>\n<p>DCFS is deeply committed to the welfare and protection of children.
