The COTA collaborates with patients, families, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to help patients achieve optimal outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>This position also supports departmental initiatives, quality improvement efforts, mentorship activities, and rehabilitation program development.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<h3>Patient Care &amp; Treatment<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.<\/li>\n<li>Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve function, mobility, independence, and quality of life.<\/li>\n<li>Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, home programs, and adaptive techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize therapy equipment, modalities, and treatment techniques appropriately to maximize outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding treatment progress.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated patient care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Documentation &amp; Compliance<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain records that support treatment interventions, patient progress, and billing requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to regulatory, payer, and departmental documentation standards.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure documentation is completed according to established timelines and policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Team &amp; Department Support<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain productivity expectations while delivering quality patient care.<\/li>\n<li>Assist teammates and support department operations as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in team meetings, performance improvement initiatives, and program development activities.<\/li>\n<li>Support rehabilitation aides, students, interns, and staff through mentorship and guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Professional Development<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain professional competency through continuing education and evidence-based practice.<\/li>\n<li>Share knowledge gained through continuing education with department staff.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a rehabilitation resource within the organization and community.<\/li>\n<li>Stay current on industry trends, research, and best practices in occupational therapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<h3>Required Education &amp; Licensure<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.<\/li>\n<li>Current Indiana Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.<\/li>\n<li>Current BLS\/CPR certification or ability to obtain within organizational guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience in a rehabilitation, outpatient, acute care, or healthcare setting preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, organizational, and patient education skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with the rehabilitation team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Physical Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the workday.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently and greater weights with assistance when required.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to push wheelchairs and equipment and provide CPR when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Potential exposure to infectious diseases and healthcare environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About Beacon Health System<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mission:<\/strong> We deliver outstanding care, inspire health, and connect with heart.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Values:<\/strong> Trust.
