Are you a Junior or Senior graduating in 2027 or 2028 looking to gain meaningful experience before graduation?
At Northwestern Mutual, you’ll gain real-world experience running your own business while still in college. This is not a typical internship. You’ll work with real clients, build a professional network, and develop skills that directly impact your future.
This opportunity is based out of our Janesville, Rockford, and Paddock Lake offices. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of one of these locations throughout the internship.
What You’ll Do
- Build and grow your own client base through networking and relationship building
- Meet with clients to understand their financial goals and priorities
- Create personalized financial plans and recommendations
- Develop and execute your own business strategy
- Train weekly with experienced mentors and leaders
- Earn your Life and Health Insurance licenses
- Attend an in-person training week prior to the internship
- Gain exposure to both insurance and investment planning

Compensation & Perks
- Performance-based earnings with uncapped potential
- $3,000 in stipends during the first 3 months

Who We’re Looking For
- Graduating in Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029
- Living within a commutable distance of Janesville, Rockford, or Paddock Lake
- Active on campus through athletics, clubs, leadership positions, or other organizations
- Interested in business, sales, entrepreneurship, financial planning, or wealth management
- Strong work ethic and time management skills
- Coachable, motivated, and eager to grow professionally
