{"id":188,"date":"2018-05-01T16:00:55","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T20:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/business-school\/student-scholarships-and-awards\/"},"modified":"2023-03-14T11:13:08","modified_gmt":"2023-03-14T15:13:08","slug":"student-scholarships-and-awards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/business-school\/student-resources\/student-scholarships-and-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Scholarships and Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Annually, outstanding students are recognized and financially supported by the generosity of the Business Council and others.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"undergraduate-awards\">Undergraduate Awards<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"financial-awards\">Financial Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Award Name<\/th><th>Intended Awardee<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/business-school\/business-council\/student-scholarships-awards\/\">Business Council Awards and Scholarships<\/a><\/td><td>The Business Council funds several student scholarships and awards annually to recognize Leon Hess Business School students.\u00a0 Applicants are reviewed by a committee of faculty and Business Council members.\u00a0 Awards and scholarships are in varied amounts and recognize different criteria of student achievement.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Fall Investment Seminar Scholarship<\/td><td>Up to three awards are given of $1,000 each.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Mullaney Scholarship<\/td><td>Established by William Mullaney for an undergraduate student with an interest in entrepreneurship. Up to two awards are given of $2,500 each.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Paul Corliss Award<\/td><td>Awarded to a senior Marketing student in January and May with the highest cumulative GPA, who has completed a minimum of 71.5 undergraduate credits at Monmouth University.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Paul Corliss Scholarship<\/td><td>Awarded in the fall and spring semesters to a full-time senior Marketing student with the highest cumulative GPA, who has completed a minimum of 90 credits; 61.5 credits must be completed at Monmouth University. Selection is made by the Financial Aid Office.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"recognition-of-excellence-awards\">Recognition of Excellence Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Award Name<\/th><th>Intended Awardee<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>LHBS Academic Achievement<\/td><td>Awarded to the graduating undergraduate student with the highest overall GPA in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Departmental Academic Achievement<\/td><td>Awarded to the graduating undergraduate student with the highest overall GPA in their major within the Leon Hess Business School.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Departmental Outstanding Student<\/td><td>Recognizes excellence beyond just academic performance for each of the departments of the Leon Hess Business School. Awarded to the graduating undergraduate student.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"graduate-awards\">Graduate Awards<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"financial-awards-2\">Financial Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Award Name<\/th><th>Intended Awardee<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><a title=\"Gertrude Murphy Endowed Scholarship\" href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/graduate\/mba\/scholarships\/\">Gertrude Murphy Endowed Scholarship<\/a><\/td><td>Awarded to MBA students, this scholarship honors &#8220;Gert&#8221; and her 30+ years of service at Monmouth.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Wollack Scholarship<\/td><td>Established in honor of the long-time Associate Dean of the school, Leonard Wollack, for excellence in marketing by an MBA student.
