Joe Rice<\/h2>\n\n\n

The LHBC encourages all members to get involved and engage; it\u2019s what makes our council stronger and more valuable to the students. This Spring, we\u2019re highlighting an exceptionally dedicated, long-time member of the council who has shared his experience and leadership with the students and University for more than 14 years. This is a spotlight on Joe Rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanya Hill<\/h2>\n\n\n
\"Tanya<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

As a second-generation graduate of Monmouth University for both undergrad and MBA degrees, Tanya was excited to be reached out to by fellow alumni Natasha Chandler to join the Leon Hess Business Council last September. She spent most of her life and career in New Jersey moving to Yardley, Pennsylvania, about 11 years ago after she and her husband adopted their son. Looking back at her time in college, she attributes much of her early leadership experience to the organizations she was involved in including Alpha Sigma Tau and how the career center resources helped her in getting her first job in healthcare as a medical sales representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chandler has held various commercial roles as an individual contributor and leader in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry working for large and mid-size companies. Leading sales, marketing, and customer experience teams in areas such as cardiovascular to rare specialty conditions has given her many varied opportunities of experience. Tanya also enjoys mentoring and has served leading women\u2019s groups and programming at two of her former companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since joining the council, Chandler has enjoyed meeting and helping out students with projects, career advice and general mentoring around topics like building your network and how to find a job in the pharma or life sciences industry. She\u2019s enjoyed working with Tanner Purdy and his team to learn more about their award-winning idea presented to the council last year and conversations with Alana Aufiere and Thomas Viru about the AMA. It was a pleasure to be invited to speak last fall with Michael Chattalas joining in on a great conversation sharing with students some ideas on how to pursue a sales or marketing career in the healthcare industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, mentoring, and spending time with family and friends. She most recently started a new job and is looking forward to continuing to be part of the business council in 2025 speaking as part of a panel coming up in April thanks to Richard Ricciardi leading the program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Alex Daudier<\/h2>\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n


Alex travels the furthest of any Business Council member to attend our on-campus events: a 4.5 hour drive from where he makes his home in Charles County Maryland. He moved to southern Maryland about four years ago, as the COVID pandemic was near its peak, working for Novavax, who were developing a protein-based vaccine for the disease. Alex has since started his own company called Xela Advisory, which provides interim management and CFO advisory services to life sciences companies. He and his wife Erika were married about the same time as the move to Maryland.

Alex graduated from Monmouth University in 2014 before going on to earn a Masters in Business Administration from Western Governors University. He has progressed his academic career even further as a DBA candidate at Liberty University. Alex joined the Business Council in 2017. His career began at PWC in accounting, but has expanded into many dimensions of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex is an avid golfer and has played competitively since childhood. He considered at one point making a go at becoming professional, but decided against it, instead, pursuing the career objectives that have served him so well. His passion for travel has been facilitated, in part, by Erika\u2019s career as a flight attendant. They are frequent visitors to European destinations; Spain as the most popular, and \u201cof course, Italy.\u201d He was \u201cblown away\u201d by their recent trip to Japan. When he is not travelling, Alex enjoys cooking for family and friends. Alex said that he is guided in his career and life by the ability to put himself in the position to add value to others. We applaud Alex\u2019s commitment to remaining involved in the Business Council despite the time and distance required.<\/p>\n\n\n

Raymond Klose<\/h2>\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Raymond Klose \u201977 is the president and CEO of Klose Associates, Inc., a full-service creative design and build production firm in West Long Branch. Never forgetting where he got his start, Klose is actively involved in giving back to both the University and its surrounding communities. In 2018, he was elected to the Monmouth University Board of Trustees, currently chairing the Building & Grounds Committee, while also serving as a member of the President\u2019s Council on Diversity & Inclusion. He is also an active participant in the LHBS\u2019s Dean\u2019s Student Advisory Council and Business Council. His own Monmouth education was a foundation for his success, and his ongoing contributions to the University will always be valued. On June 7, Klose received the Monmouth University 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award.<\/p>\n\n\n

Michael Troy<\/h2>\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Michael grew up in Middletown, NJ and graduated from Monmouth University – Leon Hess Business School in 2010 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Management. While at Monmouth University, Michael enjoyed studying abroad at Regent\u2019s College in London through the Experiential Education program at the University. After graduating, Michael attended Executive Programs at Stanford GSB and Wharton. Michael is currently the CEO at Troy Container Line and COTA Logistics, two logistics firms focusing on different sectors of the supply chain; both firms based in Red Bank, NJ. He currently resides in Little Silver with his wife, Tori, and three daughters; Logan (5), Elle (4), and Molly (2) along with their energetic Labrador, Otis. Michael travels quite a bit for work, all over the globe, so in his down time he enjoys being at home with his family, going to the beach, and being a part of his young children\u2019s emerging sports interests. On occasion, Michael enjoys a round of golf, running, and enjoys reading, mainly non-fiction of all type. His most recent being “The Comfort Crisis” by Michael Easter. Three years ago, Michael joined the Business Council to connect more with the University that gave him so much. Being the CEO of a local company, he feels it\u2019s important to support the university as part of a strong a vibrant community. One of Michael\u2019s mentors, Paul Doherty, was involved with Monmouth University in many ways and encouraged him to get more involved; specifically with the Leon Hess Business School. <\/p>\n\n\n

Pooja Shah<\/h2>\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Pooja was born and raised in Tinton Falls, NJ where she still makes her home today.  Her older sister and parents still live in the area as well as a large extended family of many cousins who are scattered around the state.  Pooja graduated from Monmouth University in 2019 taking a job at BDO as an audit associate.  In 2022, she moved to Spotify to pursue a role as Content Accountant where she manages the royalty payout process for content consumed on the platform.  Pooja loves the culture of the company and the focus on exposure to new and emerging music and artists.  She is currently into \u201cIndie Pop\u201d as a genre, but also enjoys a variety of styles; and working at Spodify there is no shortage of music to appreciate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having joined the Business Council in 2023, Pooja remembers attending the Business Council meetings as a student representative of Beta Gamma Sigma.  She noted the value of being exposed to professionals outside of the classroom and \u201cwanted to be a part of it\u201d after graduation.  Earlier this year, Pooja agreed to take on the role of Treasurer for the Business Counsel and joined the Steering Committee as part of this critical role.  Pooja\u2019s hobbies include travel, reading, cooking and dining out.  She loves to experience the flavors of different cultures and was recently in Cancun over the holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n
