Monmouth University’s B.F.A. in Design and Animation with a concentration in Graphic and Interactive Design is planned to meet the needs of the twenty-first century designer.

During a four-year course sequence, students gain experience in problem solving, systems design, and conceptual thinking for the design practice. Further expertise is developed through professional training in print/interactive, motion graphics, and web design. This blend of education respects the foundation and knowledge of traditional skills, while exploring the ever-changing context and function of visual communication. Students learn and create using state-of-the-art equipment, including three full 18-station iMac labs. Further enhancing the experience during the third and fourth years are advanced level offerings in fine art imaging, narrative photography, typeface design, animation, and creative book arts, as well as independent study, which allows you to expand your knowledge into areas of personal interest. This program also requires a 150-hour, 3-credit summer internship between the junior and senior year.

Graduates emerge from this program with professional, field-ready portfolios across multiple platforms, relevant real-world experience and preparation for advanced study at the graduate level.
