25 Years of Social Work Day at the United Nations   1pm to 5pm, Monday, March 31st, 2008

Social Work Day at the UN is a gathering place for people around the world who are working to make a difference. For 25 years students, practitioners, and educators have been convening at the UN to learn more about the UN, innovative projects and issues related to International Social Work and the critical role Social Work plays in the international arena. Social Work Day is co-presented by the International Association of Schools of Social Work and the International Federation of Social Workers.

This year also marks the inaugural Global Social Work Student Conference to be held on Sunday, March 30th, 2008, one day prior to Social Work Day at the McNally Theatre at Fordham Law School.

The following speakers have been confirmed to appear at Social Work Day 2008: Professor/Author Lena Dominelli, Professor/IASSW President Abye Tasse, Stephanie Asare and Tami Farber. Please visit the Speakers page for more info.

In the past, Social Work Day has been an opportunity to hear presentations from some of the leading figures in international social work. Highlights from 2006 and 2005 are also viewable.
