MONMOUTH FINISHES FOURTH AT BUCKNELL INVITATIONAL
Lucas places second individually
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University’s women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the 10-team Bucknell Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Lewisburg, Pa. The Hawks fired rounds of 324 and 333 for the tournament to finish with a two-round score of 657.
Monmouth finished 21 strokes behind tournament champion Central Connecticut State. The Blue Devils were tied with Brown after two runs as both squads shot 636, but CCSU won when the fifth score on each day was taken into account. Monmouth finished just seven strokes behind the tournament host Bucknell who finished in third place with a two-day tally of 650.
Jaclyn Lucas finished in second place individually with a two-day total of 153.
Stephanie Coughlin and Shenoa Vild both finished in the top 10. Coughlin fired rounds of 79 and 81 and Vild posted scores of 77 and 84.
Val Centanni and Meghan Henning rounded out the Hawks fivesome with scores of 183 and 188, respectively.
Monmouth returns to action on Wednesday, April 11 as the Hawks host
Wagner, Fairfield and Siena in a quad match at Suneagles Golf Club in at
Fort Montmouth.
