MONMOUTH FINISHES IN 14TH PLACE AT ELON INVITATIONAL
West Long Branch, N.J. The Monmouth University womens golf team fired a round of 362 on Sunday, following their first-round 360, at the Elon College Invitational in Burlington, North Carolina. The Hawks finished in 14th place, 11 strokes behind UMBC.
Host Elon College lost their first-round lead and the invitational title to Coastal Carolina, who shot a 311 to Elons 313, to capture the title the championship by one stroke.
Monmouth was led by Jaclyn Lucas in the opening round and in the second
as she shot an opening round 86 and second-round 85 to finish tied for
52nd place. Stephanie Coughlin finished with a 179 to place 66th
and Shenoa Vild, after firing an 88 in the first round, shot a 95 in the
second to finish 71st. Meghan Henning and Valerie Centanni both
took strokes off their second rounds to end in 75th and 82nd, respectively.
