MONMOUTH, DREXEL WOMEN’S TENNIS STOPPED BY DARNKESS
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University ran its record to 3-2 on the season with a 5-1 victory over Drexel Tuesday afternoon at the MU Tennis Complex.
Chad Long, Nick Dargene and Brian Connolly each posted two victories in the Hawks’ triumph. Long defeated the Dragons’ Jassi Singh, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Ali Gilak to post an 8-5 victory at No.1 doubles. Dargene posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Drexel’s Alex Sutton at No. 3 singles. He joined Andrew Katz to register an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles. Connolly was victorious, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5 singles and earned a victory at No. 3 doubles with Jan Humphreys.
Chris Doyle earned a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Frank Falkenstein for Monmouth’s final singles victory. A match between Drexel’s Scott Nagop and Monmouth’s Katz was stopped due to darkness.
