MONMOUTH MEN’S TENNIS LOSES HOME MATCH TO ST. PETER’S
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University men’s tennis lost a 6-1 decision to St. Peter’s College Tuesday afternoon at the MU Tennis Complex in West Long Branch.
Monmouth’s lone singles victory came at No. 6 singles where Mike Miller defeated Pablo Maristany, 6-1, 6-3. Andrew Katz also played well at No. 3 singles, but bowed out, 6-4, 7-5, against the Peacocks’ Frank Strangeman.
The tandem of Katz and Brian Connolly logged a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles for the Hawks. Monmouth’s Ali Gilak and Nick Dargene were nipped, 9-7, at No. 1 doubles by Strangeman and Alex Taenean.
The Hawks are back in action on Friday as they host LaSalle University in a 3 p.m. contest.
