MONMOUTH PLAYS TO SCORELESS TIE AT SACRED HEART

Fairfield, Conn. – Monmouth University and Sacred Heart University played to a scoreless tie in Northeast Conference action this afternoon in Fairfield, Conn.  The tie places the Hawks’ record at 3-9-1, 1-4-1 in the league.

Monmouth out-shot the Pioneers 22 to nine in the match, forcing the Sacred Heart netkeeper, Jorge DeSousa to make nine saves.  Frank Gullace (Brick, N.J./St. Rose) made two saves in the net for Monmouth.

Craig Lindquist (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) led the Hawks’ attack with six shots on goal.

Monmouth returns to action on Tuesday, October 16 when they travel to Villanova, Pa. to take on the Wildcats in a 2 p.m. match.
