MONMOUTH COMPETES AT LASALLE INVITATIONAL
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University’s women’s cross country squad finished in third place at the LaSalle University Invitational at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia. The men’s team finished in fifth.
On the women’s side, Tara Losito paced the squad with an 11th place finish. Losito finished in a time of 19:26. Teammate Amala Merritt was clocked at 19:50 to finish in 13th position. Both runners finished beat the school record time at the course.
The men’s team was led by Brian Hoffman. The sophomore finished in 17th place with a time of 25:58. Nick Pellegrino, Brad Bisinger and Justin Ward also finished in the top 25. Pellegrino placed 20th with a time of 26:15. Bisinger finished 24th with a time of 26:20. Ward was the next to cross the finish line, placing 25th with a time of 26:24.
Host LaSalle won both the men’s and women’s events on Saturday.
Monmouth returns to action Saturday, October 6 as the squad travels
to Bethlehem, Pa., to participate in Lehigh University’s Paul Short Run.
