1.- La literatura del matriarcado / linaje materno es definida por Gómez Parham como un tipo de literatura que "concerns the records of mothers' and grandmothers' lives and the legacies of those women as left to their daughters and to their daughters' daughters" (1988: 193).

2.- La importancia del fluído femenino, identificado por Cixous como leche materna, está relacionado con la revalorización de la maternidad. Para el feminismo post-estructuralista, la maternidad es el origen de toda escritura femenina (Elam, 1994: 244).
