Nace en Las Cruces, Nuevo México el 15 de agosto de 1948. Escritora, actriz, se ve influenciada por la tradición de los "storytellers" lo que hace que a través de su escritura prácticamente ponga en escena las historias introduciendo al lector al mundo maravilloso del teatro.

Ha publicado:

Cuentos: The Last of the Menu girls (1991), La mujer que sabía el idioma de los animales, una fábula para niños (1990).

Novelas: Face of an Angel (1995). Está trabajando en Loving Pedro Infante, The King and Queen of Comezón y un libro infantil: The Adobe Rabbit.

Teatro: The Flying Tortilla Man, Women in the State of Grace, one woman show.

Premios: American Book Award, Premio Axtlan y Mesilla Author of the Year Award for Face of An Angel (1995), Governor's Award in Literature, New México, (1995).
