Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Monmouth University Writing Center is to cultivate the writing skills of all students, faculty, staff, and alumni by providing a nurturing writing environment which fosters the growth of writers of all levels. The principal objectives of the Writing Center are as follows:
- to serve the entire Monmouth University community by encouraging the development of writing, critical thinking, and communication skills
- to create a comfortable learning environment by developing one-on-one relationships between writers and Writing Assistants
- to further promote Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives by offering writing assistance to students in all majors and disciplines
- to develop positive relationships with faculty members and provide them with feedback concerning their students' writing
- to provide specialized writing assistance to English as a Second Language (ESL) and language minority students
- to offer ample information, resources, and outside links related to the writing process
