• Letter from the Director: Off-Campus and Commuter Services

On behalf of the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services (OCCS), I would like to extend my congratulations to you on your acceptance as a new graduate student at Monmouth University. You will find that your on-campus experience is greatly enhanced by understanding the many available student programs and services. Taking advantage of these resources is a key ingredient to feeling connected to and being successful at Monmouth University.

The Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services was established to assist commuter students in addressing their particular needs and concerns. Since commuter students make up an important component of our university, this office endeavors to provide programs and resources that will make their journey enriching and informative.

Every semester, OCCS sponsors workshops and programs that focus on a variety of commuter issues, including the following:

    • How to get involved as a commuter student.
    • Navigating the campus, its programs, and services.
    • Connecting with the Monmouth University community.
    • Understanding on-campus parking regulations.

You also can find OCCS on the Monmouth University Web site at (www.monmouth.edu/campus_life/OCCS/) for more information on many of the topics listed above. In addition, our site allows you to explore the campus and local community at your convenience.

Furthermore, students can take advantage of the social, educational, and leadership opportunities that are offered by becoming a member of the Commuter Club, which is just one of more than 65 recognized student clubs and organizations at Monmouth University.

When you begin your studies, please feel free to send an e-mail to OCCS if you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions related to your commuting experience at Monmouth University.
