Full-Service Telephone Plan For Resident Students
Monmouth University’s Office of Telecommunications is pleased to announce a full-service telephone plan for resident students. This full-service plan offers students a cost-effective way to place local and long distance calls from the residence halls. All resident students are automatically enrolled in the plan and, by using the authorization code provided by the Office of Telecommunications, are able to place local and long-distance calls when they arrive on campus. Each room is equipped with at least one telephone line—all you supply is a telephone. All resident students will have a private voice mail box.
Why use Monmouth’s plan instead of services offered by commercial service providers?
The telephone plan is based entirely on the quantity and duration of calls you make. Every resident student will be issued a personal authorization code. At the beginning of each month the Office of Telecommunications will send you an invoice for the calls you have placed. If you did not use your authorization code during the month, and you do not have a previous balance, you will not receive a statement. In most cases, your overall charges through our plan will be considerably less expensive than any plan you may presently subscribe to.
Some of the highlights of the plan are:
- No forms or applications to complete, no sign-up or monthly fees, no commitments or contracts. (With the elimination of all sign-up forms and fees, you are able to begin using your telephone the day you move in.)
- No charge for any call in our local calling area.
- $.99 per minute for all domestic calls beyond the local calling area, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
- No per call surcharge.
- $150 per month credit limit.
- Bills may be sent to your residence hall room or your home address.
- Caller ID. This lets you see the number of the person who is calling you before you answer the phone. The caller’s telephone number shows on a display unit that attaches to or is part of your telephone. Caller ID requires an additional piece of equipment, the display unit, which you must supply. There is no additional charge for this service.
