Letter from the Director of Off-Campus and Commuter Services
On behalf of the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services (OCCS), I would like to extend my congratulations to you on your acceptance as a new student at Monmouth University. Taking advantage of all the on-campus resources is a key ingredient to feeling connected and being successful at Monmouth University.
The Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services works to assist off-campus and commuter students in addressing their particular needs and concerns. Since our off-campus and commuter students make up an important component of the University, this office endeavors to provide programs and resources that will make your journey enriching and informative.
Every semester, OCCS sponsors workshops and programs that focus on a variety of commuter issues, including the following:
- how to get involved
- navigating the campus, and its programs and services
- connecting with Monmouth University and local communities
- on-campus parking
OCCS also has a presence on the Monmouth University Web site (www.monmouth.edu/campus_life/OCCS/) that addresses many of the topics listed above and provides commuter students with the opportunity to explore the campus and local community at their convenience. Furthermore, students can take advantage of the social, educational, and leadership opportunities that are offered by becoming a member of one of more than 80 recognized student clubs and organizations at Monmouth University.
As you begin your studies, please feel free to contact OCCS if you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions related to your commuting experience at Monmouth University.
Once again, congratulations. I look forward to seeing you at New Student Orientation.
Vaughn Clay
Director
Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services
