Housing: Frequently Asked Housing Questions
When will I get my room assignment?
You will find out where you will be living and who your roommate will be in mid-July.
What is my room like?
See our information sheet about residence halls or check out the Residence Life Web site.
May I see my room before I move in?
The Office of Undergraduate Admission provides campus tours, which include a visit to a representative residence hall room. Most residence halls are occupied by outside groups during the summer; you will not be able to see your room until move-in day.
Are the beds bunked? Can they be?
The majority of beds are bunkable beds (depending on the hall). Most students choose to leave their beds bunked to maximize floor space. Students may also choose to rent a loft; information will be sent to you in July.
When do I move in?
Move-in dates, times, and instructions will be provided in your housing assignment package. The tentative move-in date is Sunday, September 2, 2012.
Can I request a roommate?
Yes. If there is someone you would like to live with and they are agreeable, we will do our best to accommodate you. Note: Both students must request each other on their contracts in order to be made roommates. All requests must be received by May 1, 2012.
Do I have to purchase a meal plan?
YES. Meal plans are required if you live in University-owned or sponsored housing with the exception of apartment residents.

Data network connections and access to the Internet are provided to each student. Students are responsible for the cost of network cards, setup, network cables, and servicing of their computers.
