Resizing Images in Paint

  1. Open up Paint by clicking the Start button at the bottom left of your Windows screen. Go to All Programs, click on Accessories, and then choose Paint.
  2. When the Paint window opens up, go to the arrow at the top left corner (a blue button, next to Home) and select Open from the drop-down menu.
  3. Find your oversized image and hit "Open".
  4. After the image is displayed, hit Resize at the top (in the Home tab, above Image).
  5. In the Resize and Skew menu, hit the button that says Pixels. This will display the size of your image in pixels.
  6. The width of your image should be no bigger than 470 pixels. If it is, enter a smaller size in the Horizontal field. Make sure the "Maintain aspect ratio" box is selected so that your image doesn't shrink unevenly. The Vertical size will automatically adjust once you change the Horizontal size.
  7. Click OK when you're done. The image will shrink down in the Paint window. You can keep resizing the image until it is the size you want.
  8. Go back to the arrow at the top left corner and hit "Save as". Save the image with a new file name. After that, you can upload your new image to the Ektron library.
