Adding Metadata to your HTML Content:

  1. Find the appropriate page on Ektron. Click on the page name and hit the Edit button that comes up at the top.
  2. Once the page is open, click on the Metadata tab.
  3. Look for the section labeled "Banner: (Image)." If there is no item listed underneath, hit the Edit button. This will bring up the Ektron library.
  4. The banner is the department/office title that appears at the top left of each Monmouth Web page. In the library, go to the appropriate folder and find the image for your department/office. (If you don't know the image file name, bring up the page on the live Monmouth Web site and right-click on the banner.)
  5. When you find the correct banner in the library, double-click on the title. It will then appear at the bottom under "Reorder and Finalize Selections." Hit the Save button. The title of the image should then appear in the "Banner: (Image)" section.
  6. Next, look for the section labeled "RelatedMenu: (Menu)." If there is no item listed underneath, hit the Edit button. This will bring up a list of menus.
  7. The menu is the set of links that appears on the left side of each Monmouth Web page. In the list, find the menu for your department/office. (It's in alphabetical order.)
  8. When you find the correct menu, double-click on the title. It will then appear at the bottom under "Reorder and Finalize Selections." Hit the Save button. The title of the image should then appear in the "Banner: (Image)" section.
  9. At minimum, all Monmouth Web pages must have a banner and menu. You also have the option to add top and bottom boxes, which would appear above or below the menu on the left side of the page.
  10. For this metadata to appear on the site, you have to submit the page by hitting the Submit button. Enrollment Publications will approve it and then publish it to the live site.
