Dr. Cheryl Leiningen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at The College of New
Jersey in 1988, followed by her Master of Science Degree (Advanced Practice Nursing: Adult Primary Care) in 1999 from New York University. In 2013, she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers University). Her doctoral research, “The Impact of Bullying in Nursing,” has been presented both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Leiningen is an Assistant Professor at Monmouth University, School of Nursing &
Health Studies and maintains a private clinical practice in Adult Primary Care.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Health, the LGBT Education Gap in Nursing,
and Workplace Violence.
