Monmouth University Moves Up in U.S.News & World Report Annual Ranking of Best Colleges

Monmouth University moved up once again in the U.S.News & World Report's annual ranking of Best Colleges and is one of the fastest-rising universities in its category (Regional Universities North) over the last decade. Monmouth has climbed from a top tier ranking of 76 in 2005 to its highest ranking this year of 30. Last year Monmouth was ranked 37.
Over the past two decades, the U.S.News college rankings, which group schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, has grown to be the most comprehensive research tool for students and parents considering higher education opportunities.
Vice President for Enrollment Management Robert Mc Caig speculated that a significant rise in the University's graduation rate likely played a role in Monmouth's jump this year. "We've become a different and much stronger university over the last decade, and a high graduation rate is one of the measures of that success," said Mc Caig.
"It's terrific to see our ranking rise once again, but I'm even prouder that we're welcoming one of the best academic classes ever this fall-and the most diverse class in terms of ethnic and geographic diversity," said President Paul R. Brown.
The exclusive rankings, which include rankings of more than 1,600 schools nationwide, are available at www.usnews.com/colleges.
