THE JEWISH CULTURAL STUDIES PROGRAM PRESENTS A PRE-HANUKKAH CONCERT

Monmouth University’s Jewish Cultural Studies Program cordially invites you to a pre-Hanukkah concert by the Oasis Players.  The concert is scheduled for December 5 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Pollak Theatre. This event is free and open to the public.

The Oasis Players, founded in 2009, specialize in cabaret-style performances of a range of music from theater, film, golden age standards, pop, early rock, and contemporary cabaret.

The program contains music by Jewish composers throughout the last century. Beginning with Irving Berlin (including Alexander’s Ragtime Band, written a century ago), it continues with songwriters like Jason Robert Brown, the Gershwins, Jerome Kern, Richard Rogers, Frank Loesser, Jules Styne, Harold Arlen, Yip Harburg, Stephen Schwartz, Maury Yeston, Alan Mencken, Howard Ashman, Neil Sedaka, Barry Manilow, and Carole King.

This event is organized by the Jewish Cultural Studies Program and the Office for Global Initiatives.  For more information please contact 732-571-4474
