Joint Event Hosted by JSPRAA and PRSA NJ Being Held at Monmouth University

What does it take to make “Real” news? A joint event hosted by Jersey Shore Public Relations & Advertising and Public Relations Society of America NJ chapter will take place at Monmouth University’s Multipurpose Activity Center, Varsity Club on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 8:30 a.m.

Brian Thompson is a reporter for NBC4 New York. Brian is an Emmy Award-winning reporter who joined NBC4 in 1998 covering New Jersey. Prior to joining WNBC, he worked for five years in Washington, D.C., covering the White House, Capitol Hill, and the Supreme Court.

Sally Pakutka is manager of News Aggregation at the Asbury Park Press. Sally began her career with the Press in 2001 as Editor of New Publications and was named Local News Editor in 2010. She started her current position in January. Sally has been a newspaper journalist for nearly three decades.

Christopher Sheldon serves as Long Branch-Eatontown Editor with Patch.com. He worked at two hyper local news publications before joining Patch, including the Westerly Sun in Rhode Island and the Ocean Star in Point Pleasant Beach.

Gina Columbus serves as Asbury Park Press staff writer and joined Gannett’s Talent Development Program in 2012. She serves as a metro reporter and writes lifestyles and features pieces, developed in the multiple media platforms. Gina has a B.A. in Communication from Monmouth University.

Allison Gibson has served as Assistant News Director at News 12 New Jersey for the past 17 years, working to launch the channel in March of 1996, and establishing it as New Jersey’s own television station and place to go to for local news.
