PROFESSOR PRESSMAN ELECTED AS TRUSTEE TO ASSOCIATION FOR SOCIAL ECONOMICS

Monmouth University Economics Professor Steven Pressman has been elected as a trustee to the Association for Social Economics for a 5-year term running from 2013 through 2017. 

The Association for Social Economics was founded in 1941 seeking to promote high quality research in the broadly defined area of social economics.

Dr. Pressman has published over 120 articles in refereed journals and as book chapters, and has authored, or edited 13 books, including Women in the Age of Economic Transformation (Routledge, 1994), Economics and Its Discontents (Edward Elgar, 1998), A New Guide to Post Keynesian Economics (Routledge, 2001), Alternative Theories of the State (Palgrave/Macmillan, 2006), and Leading Contemporary Economists (Routledge, 2008). The third edition of his book Fifty Major Economists (Routledge) is due out in 2013.

Dr. Pressman’s main areas of research are poverty and income distribution, and government tax and spending policies.
