MU STUDENTS RESEARCH PAPER TO BE PUBLISHED IN NATIONAL PUBLICATION

Monmouth University (MU) political science majors Samuel L. Maynard and Alexandria L. Todd had their jointly written research paper accepted for national publication by the Honor Society for International Relations (SIGMA IOTA RHO). The essay, titled “Chaos, Pure and Simple: Examining the Complexities of the 2001 Economic Crisis in Argentina,” will be published in the Journal of International Relations in March 2013.

The essay examines different domestic and international factors and how they contributed to the largest sovereign default in history (i.e., Argentina’s 2001 economic crisis). It was written before the two authors travelled with ten other MU students to Buenos Aires, Argentina, over the recent winter break. This trip was organized by the Political Science Department at MU.

The Journal of International Relations has a circulation of 3,000 copies, which are distributed to over 120 undergraduate international relations programs and APSIA graduate international relations schools. Each edition includes a featured article by a leading voice in international relations-previous headliners have included Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank.
