PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM AT MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY

Monmouth University’s Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies, The Center for Professional Development in Nursing and Health, will present a Pediatric Physical Assessment program on Saturday, March 3 from 9 am to 2:30 pm, in McAllan Hall, room 329.

This program will provide five contact hours for nurses. The Center for Professional Development in Nursing and Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the New Jersey State Nurses Association, an accredited approver, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Provider number: P242-4/09-12.

This course is one of the most popular continuing education programs offered by the School of Nursing.  The instructors will focus on basic clinical evaluation of the school age child including both normal and abnormal findings. The material covered will primarily focus on disease and disorders frequently observed in the school age child.

Topics include: Overall pediatric assessment, reviewing health history, tools and techniques for routine health screenings, identification of common pediatric disorders, guidelines for management of health issues and planning for appropriate intervention.
