Compassion fatigue is the effect on those who regularly attend to the needs of others. When caregivers are depleted their own trauma and painful experiences from the past are magnified. When this occurs people are frequently unhappy in their work, have dysfunction in relationships, become apathetic, and emotionally and mentally exhausted. For anyone who cares for ill or disabled family members or works in a health related field, awareness and adequate self-care strategies for personal and professional well-being are paramount. This workshop will be didactic & experiential. Action-oriented interventions will be used to identify, explore, and address participants own level of compassion fatigue in order to gain understanding, avoid countertransference, and provide tools for working with clients. In addition to 6 clinical CEU’s you will earn six hours toward certification in Psychodrama.
