The Phonathon
Monmouth University Hawk Callers serve as ambassadors of the University. They call alumni, parents, and friends to update their records, inform them of recent and upcoming events, and to ask them to support the University’s Annual Fund. The Hawk Callers also work hand-in-hand with departments across campus that are in need of fundraising efforts such as the Foreign Language Department, Honors School, and the School of Social Work.

Being a Journalism concentration, it is important for me to be able to interview, think on my feet, make people feel at ease, and hold a conversation. I didn't realize it when I started working here as a freshman, but being a caller at the Phonathon has given me all these skills and more. It's also pretty cool, as well as important, to be the link between alumni and current students at our University. -Jenna Intersimone '13 |

This is my 6th semester working at the Annual Fund, and I wish I could have done it all four years. The people we work with are amazing and we have created a nice phonathon family. It is a lot of fun getting to have great conversations with alumni and parents of the University. I myself am a scholarship recipient, so knowing that my job on campus helps myself and other students attend Monmouth is also very rewarding. -Alyssa Costello '12 |
