Paul Urbanski is an associate professor and full-time faculty member of Monmouth University’s School of Social Work since 2013. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. He currently teaches undergraduate field (SW421/422) and evaluation of practice effectiveness (SW626). Most recently. Paul served as board chairperson for the Mood Disorder Support Groups of New York, a not-for-profit organization providing mental health support groups for over 35 years.

Research Interests

His research interests focus on the impact of institutions on older adults. He is also interested in how transgender persons of color living below the poverty line access services, the experiences of Korean American grandparents who migrated to the U.S. to care for their grandchildren, and is developing a study of older adults transitioning from the criminal justice system back to the community. He is also involved in a campus-wide study of the transformative learning experiences of Monmouth University alumni.
