September 20 - 21, 2013
This September will be the second hosting of the biennial Atlantic Coast Teaching of Psychology Conference. With the scenic Navesink River as our backdrop, psychology instructors from both post-secondary and high school communities will gather in Red Bank New Jersey to discuss the teaching and learning of psychology.
The overall goal of ACToP is to unite psychology teaching professionals in an atmosphere that creates and strengthens the connections between those passionate about teaching psychology. It is through these connections that psychology professionals can share current scholarship findings on the topic of teaching and learning, unique approaches to and theoretical perspectives on teaching, and instructional and assessment aides that have been proven useful in psychology classrooms. Hopefully, the support networks created during the conference weekend will be carried forth as attendees return to their classrooms.
This year our conference will put a particular emphasis on both careers in psychology as well as instructional assessment.
