Monmouth University provides summer housing for registered players and coaches of the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL). Housing accommodations are available beginning May 25, 2014 - July 26, 2014. Detailed information regarding accommodations and how to reserve space is provided below.
Summer 2014 housing availability is provided in an apartment-style residential hall. The apartment consists of a lounge area adjacent to double occupancy bedrooms rooms and bathroom facilities. Each apartment will house between four to six tenants who will share bathroom facilities.
Players will be charged a weekly rate per person for a double occupancy room for the period of May 25 - July 26, 2014. Rental rate information is available on our housing application.
Late arrivals will be assessed a weekly rate for a double occupancy room based on the date of arrival through July 26, 2014. Players must depart the University by 12 noon on July 26, 2014. Players who need to extend their Lease beyond July 26, 1014 due to playoff schedules must notify the Office of Conference & Event Services immediately and will be charged the weekly rate for an additional week's rent which will be taken out of the Tenant's security deposit. We do not prorate partial week stays.
Please complete an ABCCL Summer Housing Application and return it to the Office of Conference & Event Services along with a $200.00 deposit. While we cannot guarantee roommate requests, we will try to accommodate such requests to the best of our ability.
After you have submitted a housing application, along with a $200.00 deposit, and housing has been secured, you will be sent a Lease prior to your arrival to the University. The Lease is a legal and binding document between the Tenant (baseball player) and the Landlord (the University). If a Tenant leaves early and breaks the lease, the Tenant is responsible for payment for the duration of the lease and no refunds will be issued.
In addition to completing the application form, players must read and agree to the terms outlined in the information letter and the Tenancy Rules and Regulations.
All housing accommodations will be clean upon arrival with no further housekeeping services offered during your stay. The League teams will provide cleaning equipment, i.e., garbage bags, cleansers, brooms and mops. ABCCL players and coaches in residence are responsible for cleaning the entire apartment (your room assignment, kitchen, bathroom and common area) throughout your stay and at the end of your stay; returning it to the condition found upon arrival. Trash should be disposed of regularly in dumpsters located outside of the building.
Upon arrival, you will be issued your building/room keys and a laundry card. Upon check-out, all keys must be returned to the MU Summer Conference Coordinator on duty. If you fail to return any keys during your check-out, a $75.00 fee will be deducted from your security deposit.
Players will be held accountable to the 2014 ABCCL Player Guidelines and MU's Tenancy Rules and Regulations.
A communal kitchen is located in each apartment. Each tenant is responsible for furnishing their own dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. All tenants are responsible for cleaning the kitchen immediately after each use. Health and Safety checks will be conducted throughout the summer to assess cleanliness and safety of each kitchen. Improper use of the kitchen or failure to keep kitchen clean will result in the tenants being removed from the apartment.
